Privacy policy
1. Who is responsible
This site is published by bs-media, a company registered in France (105 265 805 R.C.S. Rennes). Because the publisher is established in the European Union, your data is handled under the GDPR, which is stricter than what most American sites apply. Contact: info@bs-media.fr.
2. What is collected
Only what you type in yourself:
- your email address, if you sign up for the letter;
- nothing else — the American edition does not run the quote form used on the French one.
The interactive tools run entirely in your browser. The checklists, the calculators and the quizzes keep their state in your device's local storage. Nothing you enter in them is sent to a server, and nothing leaves your browser unless you fill in a form on purpose.
3. Measurement, and your choice
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which articles are actually useful. Nothing is loaded and no cookie is set until you accept. The banner appears on your first visit, refusing is exactly as easy as accepting, and your choice is remembered for as long either way. You can change it at any time through Manage cookies in the footer.
If you accept, Google Analytics records the pages you view, the approximate region you connect from, and which affiliate links you click — that last one so the site knows which recommendations are useful. IP addresses are truncated by default. If you refuse, none of this happens and the site works exactly the same.
4. Amazon links
Links to Amazon carry an affiliate tag. When you click one, Amazon may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy, which this site does not control. Refuge72 never receives your name, your address or anything you buy — only an aggregate count of qualifying purchases.
5. How long it is kept
Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, which takes one click in every message. Analytics data is kept for fourteen months. Local storage on your device stays until you clear your browser data.
6. Your rights
You may ask for a copy of your data, its correction or its deletion, and you may withdraw your consent at any time. Write to info@bs-media.fr and you will get an answer within a month.
If you live in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know what is collected, to have it deleted, and to opt out of any sale of personal information. This site does not sell personal information, and never has. The same address handles those requests.
7. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has signed up, write in and the record will be removed.
